Vision

The goal for oterm is simple to state and hard to do: be simple, be
flexible, and boost developer productivity — on every OS you work on.

Simple

A terminal should be obvious without a manual. An action lives where you'd reach
for it: right-click the thing you mean, or find it in the menu under the noun it
belongs to. Destructive actions confirm; everything else just happens. If a
feature needs a manual, the feature is designed wrong — and it changes.

Flexible

Your terminal should adapt to how you work, not the other way around. Nest
splits into any layout your brain likes. Style tabs and panes directly, without a
maze of profiles. Carry your whole setup to another machine in one folder, run
isolated instances side by side, and get the same behavior on macOS, Windows, and
Linux.

Boost developer productivity

Every feature is judged by one question: does it save you time in the shell?
Keyboard first, no target pickers, no waiting — layouts that restore themselves,
tabs that remember their goal, commands that hop between panes without copy-paste,
SSH without the boilerplate. The terminal should get out of your way and let you
build.
